Methodology

Startup Visa Impact Canada employs a rigorous methodology to verify the data of immigrant-founded Canadian startups. Our goal is to provide a reliable, transparent dataset that demonstrates the true economic and innovative impact of these companies.

Verification Process

Before a startup receives our verified badge, they must undergo a multi-step verification process, which includes the submission and review of critical documents:

  • Incorporation Documents: To confirm the legal existence of the Canadian entity.
  • Funding Records: Bank statements or capitalization tables to verify the total funding and at-risk capital.
  • Employment Records: Payroll or tax documents to validate the number of jobs created in Canada.

Data Privacy

The sensitive documents uploaded during the verification process are reviewed securely by our team and are never published or shared publicly. Only aggregated metrics and approved public details are displayed on the startup profile.

Reporting

The data collected is used to generate an aggregate report on the economic contribution of the Start-up Visa program. This includes forecasting job creation, tracking capital inflows, and highlighting the innovative capacity of these startups.
